“AP has been building schools in the Phoenix area for over thirty years. When the pandemic hit, we worked closely with Candeo schools, SPS + architects, and local contractors to resolve many issues faced by other projects, ”said Scott Salyer, vice president of operations for AP. “By working together, not only did we stay on schedule, but we delivered the school three months earlier. We are pleased with the outcome and confident that the school’s additions and renovations leave it fully equipped to effectively educate and accommodate students in one of Phoenix’s fastest growing suburbs.
AP approached the expansion and renovation project in two phases. Phase I included the remodeling of the school’s existing administrative building, painting and sealing of concrete floors, yard renovation, playground expansion, playground landscaping and improved parking.
Phase II included the construction of two buildings. The first 7,902 square foot building provides the school with six new classrooms, washrooms, a break room, storage cupboards and lockers. The second 2,470 sq. Ft. Building offers three additional classrooms, a fire escalation room, a mechanical room and an electrical cabinet. Phase II also included the construction of a covered courtyard for students and staff.
